What a time to live in Brighton & hove
We've been making the most of sunny evenings on the beach after long, hot days and the sea is warming up finally. At the cafe, iced drinks are leaving the bar before 9am, Isle of Wight tomatoes are flying out of the kitchen, and we're chatting all day long about just how hot it really is.
With Pride just around the corner, On the beach 2026 is happening this weekend, the city is starting to buzz. Summer has well and truly arrived at Black Mocha.

independent Brighton
This year marks 12 years of Black Mocha. From very humble beginnings, we've built something we're incredibly proud of. None of it would have been possible without our regulars, our neighbours and everyone who's discovered us along the way. Thank you.
Every time you choose independent, you're helping businesses like ours create places where people connect, catch up and feel welcome.
That's why we're proud to support the VATs Enough campaign, alongside thousands of hospitality businesses across the UK. Independent cafés, restaurants and pubs are part of what gives Brighton—and communities across the country—their character.
Every visit makes a difference. We employ local people, buy from local suppliers wherever we can, and work hard to create a place that's good for our community—socially, culturally and economically.
Thank you for being part of it.
